In order to pay homage to those who lost their lives in the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, the city brought the community together and collected donations from all of Japan to construct a Peace Park. They created a park where people could gather every August 9th to pay their respects for the victims and pray for them. Come to Nagasaki to show your support for peace. At the Peace Park, there are many monuments donated by peace supportersi. Among them is a statue of a woman holding a baby. It was donated as an expression of peace and love by the Soviet Union to show their support towards Japan. After the atomic bombing, people from all around the world  rallied to mourn the victims and show their support to the Japanese people. At the park, you can see monuments donated from all around the world centered around spreading peace.
