Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum

On August 9, 1945, an atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki which took 73,884 lives. The Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum preserves the remains of that tragic moment in history and presents an exhibition dedicated to preventing a similar tragedy in the future. The museum has many amenities to help visitors understand the impact of the atomic bomb such as a Virtual Reality System, an audio tour that includes clips from survivors, and many interactive visual exhibits. Located at the epicenter, just a 5-minute walk from the Atomic Bomb Tram Station, the museum opens from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. all year round except for May to August at which time it closes at 6:30 p.m. The Admission fee is 200 yen per adult and 100 yen per child. Exhibitions are presented in English alongside Japanese.
